The binary part of this update was uploaded at a bar with free wireless in Eugene, OR, and continued even after the bar was closed, using a directional antenna through the window. Thanks jerkey! The html coding was uploaded from the Cascade Mountains though an ad-hoc satellite hookup using a Speak & Spell, a record player some tin foil, and the CDMA cellular network with a total bandwidth of 9600 bps.
Seattle.. At the IndyMedia Center one of the first ever. This was one of the many art exhibits they had on display.
They even tag bushes in Seattle!!!!
The SeaHawks Statium and Space needle tourist style pictures. (Snapped from the window of the Pequod speeding downtown on they way to our next mission)
And we head back to the IAP for Thankstaking day, ate MASSIVE amounts of food, helped sing sea shanties, and partied all night long! Thanks IAP!
A tearful goodbye ensues, and the Team heads to Eugene, OR.. where the town seems to be missing food, shelter, and high-speed internet. After spending one unplugged night in the van down by the river, spirits rose again upon spying a paper mache hand on a lonely porch.
As you all know, the hand is an ancient symbol of the Jewish Mafia, and here we found our next employer. The Job: Bring high speed internet to their camp in the wilderness.
Old Growth fir trees line the road as we travel up and up and up..
And we come upon a remarkable sight, a pirate ship built in the middle of the road!
These pictures are just some of the amazing things in Cascadia. As I spent more and more time away from my comfortable bed, T1, and Linux computer network I discovered the love and joy of natural surroundings and have since decided to smash my laptop and satellite dish, and toss my cellphone off the side of a mountain and devote the rest of my life to hunting and trapping small animals in the brush while learning to survive and flourish without electricity. mstar 12/02/03
